Darth Vader as Military Leader: F+!

I find your lack of faith disturbing....

Rebel Alliance pilots and soldiers are EASILY replaceable? They didn't lose ANYONE in the battle of Hoth?!!? I dunno if Mon Mothma, Admiral Ackbar, Jan Dodonna and General Madine would agree with you there. I count Luke, Wedge and maybe Janson as the only surviving pilots. That's three. I saw no Rebel soldiers at all for the rest of that that movie. Yes the Empire might've lost more but they also HAD more. Much more. When you have resources, you commit them and you win. Vader definitely could've done a few things differently but he definitely didn't LOSE to the Rebels A MILLION to zero. At the end, the Rebels have no base, lots of casualties, one less planet defender ion cannon and who knows how many POW/MIA/captured besides Han. Plus, Lando Calrissian SINGLE-HANDEDLY destroys the Second Death Star? Um, no. If the Ewoks hadn't come to the aid of Han Solo's strike force on the ground, that battle was OVER. Han and his team were captured, Luke was in custody too and the Imperial fleet was wrecking the Rebels in space while the deflector shield kept ALL the Rebel ships out of the Death Star. All Lando did was stay alive long enough for everyone else to do their jobs and then fire the lucky shot (from a ship that he single-handedly borrowed) AFTER Wedge took out the power couplings around the main reactor. That's called a team effort and luck.
